Marko Ramljak was born in Sibenik/Croatia on the 6th of February 1973.
He started his classical training in violin when he was only nine
years old and wery soon after that discovered his love for another
instrument -
guitar. Playing guitar greatly influenced development of his own
expression in playing violin so after eight years of classical training
he dared
to try to find his personal style.
Years 1993/94 mark beginning of his professional carrier in music.
In those two years that he spent in South Africa he had opportunity to join as
a guitarist in a very popular band of Kreesan Pillay, meet with local
African musicians.
Back home at Sibenik joins Irish folk group “Secret Life” and records instrumental
song called “Trlis” witch becomes immediate hit on the local radio stations and
shortly after he signs himself as an author of music and words for “Green Song” witch
he recorded with Sean Cannon (Dubliners) as a vocalist.
In ’99 he received invitation from Gibonni to work on the recording of his album “Judi,
zviri i bestimje”. As he now becomes permanent member of his band he appears
in many live concerts and on the Gibonni’s DVD HT-isdn. He gladly accepts flattering
invitation as a guest in a V.Stefanovski concert in Split. After that follows
work on new Gibonni’s album “Mirakul” where he leaves his trace as guitarist,
violinist, vocalist and author of one of the themes “Ono nesto”. He gets to meet
and work with Manu Katche and Pino Paladino. Tour “Mirakul” was a wonderful
experience where he tried himself even as a vocalist. New opportunities arise
to work with jazz ensemble “Zagreb” and “Quartet Sensitive”.
Since ’93 Marko was writing down his songs hoping to record his
own album. Year 2003 brings realization of his first demos, some with help of
Damir Liposek
(Keks) and some recorded in his home/studio. Album was finished by the end of
2003 with great musicians: Matija Dedic - piano, Henry Radanovic - bass, Damir
Somen - drums, Marijan Brkic - guitar, Eduard Botric - keyboard, Matko Petric
- percussion and
last
but
not
least Marko Ramljak
- violin,
guitar,
bass
and vocal.
